After I did that I was able to drag and drop Maschine into S1 as an instrument track and it seems to be working BUT, something is STILL wrong. All that I needed to do was go to Locations in S1/VSTs and "add" where you have "Maschine 2" VSTs so S1 can know where to look. I just wanted to drag and drop Maschine into S1, and use Maschine as Maschine.

Only if you wanted to use Maschine as a Midi controller. A Sales Associate at Guitar Center, and fellow Maschine user, explained that setting Maschine up as a External Device was not necessary. Well I may have somewhat figured getting my track inside of S1 from Maschine. I'm going to keep searching for a solution, but the solution may be to build my own Controller Editor template for Maschine Studio. To me it appears that Maschine Control is not equal to Maschine Studio Control, although that should not prevent the Maschine Studio from controlling MIDI.

In the Add or Edit Device options in Studio One, there are 2 options in Receive From - Maschine Studio Virtual Input and Maschine Studio Port 1 there are 4 options in Send To - Maschine Studio Virtual Input and Maschine Studio Ports 1 through 3. Themuzic wroteWell the send to and receive from should be both set to the Maschine Controller. The templates for Maschine Controller are different and unusable on Maschine Studio. However, if you double-click the "Studio One.ncm" file, the template will load in Controller Editor under Maschine Controller templates, as opposed to Maschine Studio templates.

The "Studio One.ncm" file that is downloaded from the S1 Add Device dialog will not import in NI Controller Editor as a template for Maschine Studio. I've got a Maschine Studio and run Studio One version 3.0.1.
